Here’s How Snapping a Picture of Your Hotel Room Can Stop Sex Trafficking
A new app called Traffick Cam is now equipping travelers to join the effort in fighting human trafficking.
“You just enter your hotel room, and your room number. You take four pictures, and you submit them to the website,” said TraffickCam developer Abby Stylianou. “And then those become part of the pipeline that law enforcement can use to track down where the victims are being trafficked.”
Over 1.5 million images have been collected in its database so far.
The Internet is making it easier for criminals to capture victims, but thanks to new technologies, it’s also making it easier for us to stop them by allowing everyday citizens to make a difference.
You can be the difference. And so can your friends. SHARE this with everyone you know so that together we can #EndIt.
