After Years Of Struggle, Laurie Hernandez Stuns The Crowd When She Stood Up And Said This

The Olympics could easily be a time for the liberal agenda to be forced on us even more, however, gymnast Laurie Hernandez is one of the few competitors taking a stand for Jesus Christ in the most inspiring way.
When I discovered the details of Laurie Hernandez’s testimony, I realized God was rewarding her steadfast faith.
At 16-years-old, Laurie is the youngest member of the 2016 USA Women’s Olympic Gymnastics team.
The talented teen could easily let the fame get to her head at a time like this, but Laurie knows where her true fortune can be found — in heaven.
Although Laurie seems to have it all, her testimony tells the journey of someone who’s faced unfathomable tragedies in life — and overcame them all with a strong faith in Jesus Christ.
“I’m only 16, but I feel like I’ve been through a lot, but now it’s all worth it,” Laurie said.
When I learned everything Laurie persevered through on her road to Rio, I realized God was using her in extraordinary ways…
Laurie is known for her joyous facial expressions while performing her gymnastic routines, and you don’t have to look too hard to discover where that joy comes from: Hernandez is outspoken about her Christian faith.
The 16-year-old had the odds stacked against her — many didn’t expect Laurie to even qualify for the USA Women’s Olympic Gymnastics team. However, she trusted in God’s plan and persevered through challenges thrown her way, resulting in her first gold medal after a flawless performance.
“I just wake up thanking God for another day and go to sleep thanking God for another day… sometimes things just don’t work out and so you just gotta let God push you through those rough times,” Laurie said. “I want to thank God, cause with God nothing is impossible.”

Laurie’s road to Rio was far from easy: She’s broken her right wrist twice and fractured her left elbow once. She dislocated her right kneecap and tore her patellar tendon after landing awkwardly on a vault; she now has a reconstructed cadaver’s tendon in her knee, and she once couldn’t eat solid foods for a few weeks after smashing her teeth against the uneven bars.
Instead of being bound by bitterness, Laurie continued giving God all the glory with her gift of gymnastics. She relied heavily on prayer during her times of tribulation, and always prays before a performance.
“[Praying] really grounds me. Once I do that, for some reason, I’m able to think clearly. And it calms me down and centers me right before I compete,” Laurie revealed.
When I learned the details of Laurie’s Christian upbringing, I realized why she’s performed so flawlessly throughout the entire Olympics.

Laurie’s parents instilled their daughter with a devout Christian faith. Laurie’s mother attributes her daughter’s success to her determination to spread the message of Jesus Christ through her God-given gift of gymnastics.
“God has a plan and if it is His will, then it will happen. Her belief of faith and her training give her confidence. She has such an incredible drive and determination. She has a fire in her eyes and a drive to succeed that is so obvious, even when facing adversity,” Laurie’s mom, Wanda, said.
When I learned the details of Laurie’s plan to give God all the glory at the Olympics, my love and respect for her grew even more…

Regardless of Laurie’s outcome at the 2016 Rio Olympics, she is trusting God and hoping that her platform in the sport brings Him glory.
“I feel that everyday God molds me into someone that He wants me to be. So if that means just, like talking to teammates and helping them out, or like every so often I’ll post a Bible verse on Twitter or Instagram. There was one that I posted recently and I’m thinking it’s my favorite verse. It’s Proverbs 31:25 — She is clothed with dignity and strength and she laughs without fear of the future — when I hear that, that’s me in a Bible verse. I don’t fear the future anymore,” Laurie explained.
