Old Farmer Mourns for His Carabao Who Had Its Legs Cut Off by a Thief, Bleeding It to Death
It takes months to grow crops in the fields. Not only does growing vegetables and fruits take time, but it also costs so much to take care of them while they grow. A farmer’s only treasure is his carabao, who helps in ploughing the field, and maybe using it as a ride whenever the farmer feels tired. For a farmer, a carabao is not JUST an animal, but a friend and a helper.
This farmer broke into tears after discovering his carabao with its legs cut off—which ultimately led to its death. Apparently, thieves attempted cut off his carabao’s feet, leaving it to bleed to death. It isn’t clear why they had to kill the carabao, unless they wanted to take its meat, which could sell for only so much in the market.
Netizens were immediately enraged upon seeing the old man crying from his loss. Facebook page Filipino Netizens shared their thoughts on the matter:
Rough translation: “Those people who do not know how to get a decent job rather steal a carabao and butcher it right there in the field. Poor grandfather. He only has that carabao to help him in his farming in the field and that is what they do to it. They don’t have a heart, or a liver.”
