U.S. Army Chief Threatens WAR With Russia: 'We Will Beat You Harder Than Ever Before'

The Army Chief of Staff General of the United States Military has made a speech at the Association of the United States Army that might suggest that the United States is gearing up for a stand-off with Russia and China.
Army Chief Of Staff Hints At Potential War With Russia
General Milley said that while the United States and its major military and political allies had been devoting their attention in recent years to combatting the threat posed by international terrorist groups such as Al-Queda and Islamic State. In this period, countries such as Russia, Iran, China and North Korea have been making the most of the United States’ embroilment in these periphery conflicts and have developed their armies in line with that of America’s. Milley said that he suspected that they had modernised their armies with the clear purpose of defeating the United States in combat at some point in the future. To support his argument he cited a senior Russian official who said that; "The established world order is undergoing a foundational shake-up" and that "Russia can now fight a conventional war in Europe and win."
Milley warned that a near-peer conflict would be extremely lethal and could incur casualties for the United States military on a par with the Second World War. However, while he was clear to point out how arduous and difficult the fight against a country like Russia would be for the United States, he was also optimistic about what the outcome would be. He said; "I want to be clear to those who wish to do us harm … the United States military -- despite all of our challenges, despite our [operational] tempo, despite everything we have been doing -- we will stop you, and we will beat you harder than you have ever been beaten before. Make no mistake about that. We can now and we will … retain the capability to deploy rapidly, and we will destroy any enemy anywhere, any time.
