Do you know how much we sleep in our entire life? Most of you must not be aware of the fact that we humans sleep around one-third of our lives. But it doesn't mean that we sleep for 8 hours daily in routine. In fact, it is said that the younger you are, the more you need to sleep and the older you grow, the less your sleeping span gets.
In actual, this fact shocked me because I assumed that the more is the age, the more we need to sleep. But, my assumption turned out to be wrong. And I also came to know about the sleeping duration of different age groups' people.
Let's have a look at them.
Newborns who are 0-3 months old
Need to sleep for 14-17 hours a day.
Infants who are 4-11 months old
Need to sleep 12-15 hours a day.
Toddlers who are 1-2 years old
Need to sleep 11-14 hours a day.
Preschool kids of age 3-5 years
Need to sleep 10-13 hours a day.
6-12 years old adolescents
Need to sleep 9-11 hours a day.
13-17 years old teens
Need to sleep 8-10 hours a day.
Young adults of age 18-25 years
Need to sleep 7-9 hours a day.
Adults of age 26-64 years
Need to sleep 7-8 hours a day.
Senior citizens of age 65+
Need to sleep 6-8 hours a day.
