This man has a laughably simple trick for whitening teeth. All you need is a paste with a secret ingredient.
Nothing makes a person more attractive than a shiny, white smile. Unfortunately, some of our favorite vices such as drinking coffee and tea or smoking cigarettes leave terrible stains on our teeth. Chemical teeth whiteners often contain concentrated hydrogen peroxide, which can damage the teeth. Luckily, there's a completely natural method to whiten teeth — and the main ingredient can be found on your spice shelf!
You will need:
- turmeric (powder)
- coconut oil
- peppermint oil
Mix a teaspoon of turmeric powder, a teaspoon of coconut oil and a few drops of peppermint oil into a paste.
Then simply apply the paste to your toothbrush and brush your teeth as usual. If you use this made-at-home whitening paste regularly, you should see results quickly.

Turmeric, also known as Indian saffron, belongs to the ginger family. As the name would imply, it comes from India where it has been used for centuries for its medicinal qualities. This root not only whitens teeth: it also has anti-inflammatory properties. This promotes circulation around the gums and supports healthy oral bacteria. But it is also effective against harmful bacteria and fights the germs that can cause gum disease. In most western countries, the root is best known in its powdered form as a spice for curries, known for giving the dish its characteristic yellow color. It may sound a little paradoxical, but although turmeric is an effective catalyst for whiter teeth, it is also a highly intensive dye that can be difficult to get out of your clothes. Therefore, it's probably better to use a second toothbrush when brushing with turmeric because after a while, the bristles on your brush will also turn yellow.
Thanks to lauric acid, coconut oil is a true cavity killer because it neutralizes the bacteria in the mouth. Peppermint oil also has antibacterial properties and gives the mixture a fresh taste.

The turmeric bulb can be used for so much more than just curry! With just two more easy-to-find ingredients, you can make your own whitening toothpaste — and it's completely natural and won't damage your teeth. Who knew a Hollywood-white smile could be achieved simply by combining a few household ingredients?
